The 2024 EFRA 1/8 European Championship took place in the stunning location of Locorotondo, in southern Italy. The event attracted 80 drivers from across Europe, eager to compete on a fast track with excellent grip. Despite some rain affecting the first days of free practice, the weather improved toward the final stages, ensuring optimal racing conditions. Inf1nity customers flooded the pits with their presence and friendly attitude that is the best environment to enjoy our passion.

In the qualifying rounds, reigning champion Dario Balestri immediately showed his strong form, setting the fastest time in Q1 with his IF18-3. However, in the following sessions, a few unforeseen issues affected him and the other Infinity drivers, until Carmine Raiola delivered the best performance in Q5, securing himself the third place overall and a direct spot in the final.

The semifinals were marked by thrilling battles and constant position changes. Dario managed his race with great composure, avoiding risks and finishing with the fastest time, earning the fifth spot on the grid for the final. Francesco also showed significant improvement compared to the qualifiers, securing his place in the final with a convincing performance. Lamberto, after facing some difficulties, had to fight in the "last chance" race, a 15-minute battle that earned him the final spot in the Amain.

The final was intense… Dario Balestri allowed his rivals to fight for the lead in the early laps, then settled into his own rhythm with an aggressive strategy of three tire-change pit stops, compared to two for his closest competitors. The strategy paid off, as he claimed victory with a two-second lead over teammate Carmine Raiola, who delivered a flawless performance. Raiola frequently led the race, thanks to his speed and consistency. Lamberto, starting from the back, patiently worked his way up and finished just off the podium in fourth place.

In conclusion, the number of Inf1nity drivers attended the event was most numerous with 27% overall; most represented model in the Amain the IF18-3 once again proved to be the perfect weapon for Dario, guiding him to his fourth continental title and showcasing its competitiveness by placing three drivers in the top four. Congrats guys!!
