2024 ENS FINALE Rd.4
LENO (ITALY)
3-6/10/2024
Dario Balestri triumphed at the final round of the Euro Nitro Series in Leno but the biggest satisfaction become from the huge number of INF1NITY customers that attended this event!! Thanks to all of you!!
In the fourth and last round of the championship, Dario, the newly crowned European Champion in the category, claimed TQ, dominating two of the four 1/8th scale qualifiers. He was followed by his long-time rival Simon Kurzbuch and rising talent Thomas Lorenzi, that also racing the IF18-3.
Due to heavy rain that wiped out almost two full days of practice, the original schedule had to be heavily modified. Thanks to the excellent work of the organizers and the host club, the race was still able to take place, much to the satisfaction of all participants. The main final was shortened to a 30 minute race, where Balestri set the fastest lap, becoming the fourth different winner of the season. Behind him was Lorenzi, who replicated his second place finish from the recent Italian Championships held on the same track. Silvio Hachler completed the podium, with Kurzbuch finishing fourth but earning enough points to secure the title, narrowly beating fellow INF1NITY driver Teemu Leino by a single point. Leino's season included three podium finishes in the first three races.
In the 1:10 category, Alex Thurston lost a potential victory after taking TQ due to an accident. Shortly after, title contender Jilles Groskamp was forced to retire due to a mechanical issue with his IF15-2, leaving the win and the championship to Diekmann, ahead of Milan Holthuis, also driving an IF15-2.
In the 40+ class, Arie Manten, with his 4th place finish, managed to secure 3rd overall in the championship with his IF18-3 “gold edition.” Similarly, in the Sport class, Dave De Baar finished 4th and claimed 3rd overall in the championship!
Thus, an exciting season for European Nitro enthusiasts comes to an end... See you all in 2025!
