MINICAR FIORANO (ITALY)
Last weekend in beautiful Fiorano Circuit was held the second round of Italian Nationals; with the victory of Lamberto and 3rd place of Alberto in the first round in Gubbio our team was in good position to fight for the overall title in 1/8. In 1/10 the big accident occurred to Francesco at early stage of the race makes things more tough… From Friday morning all drivers were present to setup their models for the race… in the afternoon some fresh air allowed to “push hard” on the track getting the best of the performance and Infinity guys looked “on point”. Unfortunately a night shower delayed the timetable; in 1/10 Francesco took the TQ in shape winning all rounds… In 1/8 first round was for Lamberto and second one for the young Gandin… then a huge thunderstorm flooded the track forcing the organizers to postpone at least one round to day after. On Sunday the rocket round confirmed “frizza” (it means “sparkling”) on TQ with Lamberto 3rd (direct finalist) and Alberto 7th that had to pass trough semifinals. In the A semi Lamberto looked for a bump up spot and get it easy… After lunch break Francesco start 1/10 Amain from #1 and took the win “tone to tone”: amazing race under his control in every moment… he looked unbeatable gaining a good amount of points for overall title. In 1/8 Amain the “show” have Lamberto’s name impressed: in the early stage he suffered some aggressive style from competitors but after first refuel with his strategy and his pace looked unmatchable. He runs out of fuel but he recover the field and after half race tire change he was on the lead again while he has to retire for a mechanical failure at 33 minute mark. With 2 tire stops strategy Alberto reach the top positions 10 minutes to the end when his pace and consistent drive allowed to take the lead of the race winning it in shape… He also gain the points to lead the championship in front of Lamberto… Looked promising for next one in Bologna… See you there!
