IF18 - 1/8 ONROAD RACING CAR
Based on our 2017 World Championship winning Infinity 1/8 platform, that also claimed TQ & Super Pole and filed 5 of the 10 spots on the grid of the Main final, the new IF18 is an evolution of that winning package. Featuring a number of significant updates, it continues Infinity’s aim to express the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship and new developments include completely new front and rear A7075 bulk head designs. Giving the car a new suspension geometry in combination with longer suspension arms for improved stability, the design has taken into account ease of access to drastically improve the ability to carry out maintenance. Other key features of the new IF18 kit include the inclusion of a light weight clutch and 2-speed. The IF18 takes a World beating to the next level.
FRONT GEOMETRY
Our latest development of the suspension geometry provides high grip efficiency during travel and assures greater responsive effects during cornering for best possible handling. The geometry is fully adjustable using bushings and spacers included as part of the kit. 3 Ackermann positions available. All moulded parts are produced from a special composite compound to ensure the best performance without compromising durability. Front stabilizer is a piano-wire type operating through bearings that now feature a new plastic bushing to reduce wear.
NEW CLUTCH
The IF18 features a completely new lightweight gearbox with 0.8 module spur gears to increase performance. The clutch was redesigned to optimise acceleration at any range of RPM. Composite clutch shoe fits perfectly to the aluminium clutch bell to provide the smoothest engagement feeling on throttle.
REAR GEOMETRY
The rear geometry is a completely new design: a narrow bulkhead allows the “super long” suspension arms to improve stability and provide maximum traction for the majority of track conditions. Roll centre, camber and track width are fully adjustable using spacers and bushings included in the kit. All moulded parts are produced from a special composite compound to ensure the best performance without compromising durability. Rear stabilizer is a piano-wire type operating through bearings that now feature a new plastic bushing to reduce wear.
AERO BUMPER
“Aero Form” Bumper is a new concept for 1/8 scale. The shape features raised outer edges and the front has been extended 5mm over the previous model. The new moulding process assures the lightest weight possible.
NEW BRAKE SYSTEM
New Brake system has been moved forward on 2-speed shaft. This improved position assures less inertia and improves the control of the brake for the better feeling. All the components are new design: Mount, cam, piston, pads and ventilated disc.
FRONT BULKHEAD
CNC machined from high quality solid billet 7075 T6 aluminium alloy and finished in back colour hard-coating to assure maximum strength and precision of rotating mass positions. Compared to old version, the new design implements “easy access” to front oneway to ensure quick and easy maintenance.
REAR BULKHEAD
Like the front bulkhead, is new rear bulkhead is also CNC machined from high quality solid billet 7075 T6 aluminium alloy and finished in a black colour hard-coating to ensure maximum strength and precision of rotating mass positions. Outer edges are beveled. The completely new design is improved by being narrower than older version. Even for this part, “easy access” was a key element of the design brief allowing quick and easy maintenance of the rear solid axle.
7075-T6 CHASSIS
Using premium high-quality aircraft 7075 aluminium alloy, the main chassis is 5mm thick for maximum strength and stiffness, features that help raise cornering speed. Manufactured use highest precision CNC machines, it is lightweight in strategic areas to assure the best component displacement and lowest CG with a perfectly symmetry design. The outer edges of the chassis have been beveled to provide the correct ground clearance during cornering. Design features allow the placement of additional weights to adjust the balance of the car. Carbon fibre battery plate is included in the kit.
